When William
Shakespeare wrote Taming of the Shrew, there were few
hip-hop artists around. But Fuse likes to think if he'd
encountered some in the streets of London, it might have
changed the style of this classic.
Lil Big is
well known, an icon and a pretty desirable guy to be
seen with. When Colette is selected to walk down the red
carpet with him, she's sure it will boost her career.
But Lil Big has different plans and he treats her so
badly, she wishes she never signed on for the event.
When she shows up at his house the next day as part of
an acting troupe, he tries to banish her. Will he have
the last word on this matter...or will she?
Local
award-winning playwright, Francesca Sanders fuses forms;
using the lens of hip hop to observe the roles of men
and women play, modern day morality, and maybe finding a
new way to look at an age-old play.
